Many of our churches have been closed due to the coronavirus and the extent of which this is occuring seems to be changing daily, if not hourly, from different localities and jurisdictions. The overall effect remains the same though – many of us are now no longer able to attend our parish services.
There are some churches who will be live streaming services for those of us at home. This is the perfect opportunity for us to gather our family together, shut down everything else in the house, let the little ones babble and play at our feet without worries of who we’re disturbing around us, and sing/read along with the chanter during the live streaming or gathering together before our family altars for daily prayer.
Let us not be taken down into passivity. Let us cry aloud in participation and fervor as a community from our homes. Let our children tell their children about the Global Lent when we all participated (as best we could) in the Lenten services at home. Let this be etched into their memories that we continued to pray to God despite our entire country being under quarantine.
Holy Cross Monastery will be live streaming throughout the coronavirus epidemic. If you know of other churches who are live streaming during this time, please leave a link in the comments below.
Thank you for posting it these are great resources for this lent and trying time.

St. John the Wonderworker in Atlanta Ga
Thank you!
Thank you for compiling resources into one place. Social media feels a bit like drinking from a firehose at the moment, and frequently I can’t go back and find things I liked.
I understand.
It looks like Holy Transfiguration in Marietta, GA is live streaming services too, for those who want Byzantine. http://www.holytransfiguration.info/
Thanks!
Thank you so much, Jennifer.
Jennifer, where are the prayers from?
Good question. The one with red graphics was emailed out by my parish priest (GOA) & the other one is circulating on social media amongst those attending OCA parishes, but I don’t know who put them together. I’ll ask around.
I’d appreciate that as I would like to post them and need to ask permission from the publishers.
