I’ve been diligently working behind the scenes lately and sharing on Illumination Learning when the opportunity presents itself.
Two years ago, my parish priest asked me if I would work with him on developing a Sunday School curriculum for our parish on the Divine Liturgy.
Last year, we continued with our entire Sunday School learning the same topic and began our four year program on the Gospels. We started with the Gospel of Mark out of practicality for us. Our hall was under renovation and we could not use our classrooms until October. Therefore we started with the shortest of the four gospels – Mark.
This year, our Sunday School is studying the Gospel of Matthew and we started a bit earlier than normal since this is the longest of the gospels. I will post these lessons, as well, in the near future.
I had several people email me last month in regards to our Gospel of Mark lessons. My summer slipped quickly past me and I was unable to share the teaching methods we used with these lessons. I have already held one Zoom meeting with a parish in Michigan and have set up a group Zoom meeting for THIS WEEK on October 18th for anyone else who would like to learn more about how we taught these lessons last year.
Additionally, I’m going to hold three other classes as well:
- Creating Orthodox Resources
- Writing a Lesson
- Developing a Curriculum
You can sign up for these Zoom classes here.
I hope to see all of you in one of the classes and feel free to share this news with others!
